Founded in 2016 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Cansız — academic, civil engineer, and architect — SC Yapı is a visionary architecture and engineering firm that unites academic knowledge with strong field practice.

From theory to site: a holistic expertise story

Our journey rests on a dual-discipline foundation: Civil Engineering at Yıldız Technical University (2010) and Architecture (2015). Since 2011 our founder has taught future engineers and architects, completing his doctorate in Structural Engineering at YTU in 2020.

Following national and international academic work on earthquake-resilient structural design, he earned associate professorship in 2023 — ensuring the latest seismic knowledge transfers directly to our sites.

Broad project typology and industry consulting

Since 2016 we have delivered architectural design, engineering calculations, and construction for qualified housing, mixed-use residences, dormitories, and hotels.

Alongside field expertise, for the last 5 years we have provided senior project and engineering consulting to leading Turkish brands such as Avrupa Konutları, Kiler GYO, Özak GYO, and Sinpaş.

For the last 3 years we have focused on urban transformation and highly earthquake-resilient buildings — the city’s most urgent need.

Under the “Yarısı Bizden” program we completed transformation of 50 independent units across 3 projects with zero defects. We are currently renewing 25 units across 2 active sites with the same technical rigor.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Cansız

Founder · Academic · Structural Engineer & Architect

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Cansız combines architecture and civil engineering through academic knowledge and field experience, specializing in structural safety and urban transformation.

With Civil Engineering (2010) and Architecture (2015) degrees forming a dual-discipline foundation, he has taught at universities since 2011, earned his Structural Engineering doctorate at YTU in 2020, and associate professorship in earthquake-resilient structural design in 2023.

Believing urban transformation is central to safe cities, he transfers theory to the site and builds to high engineering standards with earthquake safety as a core principle. He also shares views on seismic safety and urban transformation on national television.
